1.    Shared Reading:  This Side of Paradise by Stephen Layne

2.    You must read The Giver  by Lois Lowry

3.    Read any Newbery Honor Book-  The librarians can help you with this or you can search online to get a list of these books.

4.    Read ONE Coretta Scott King award book- **Please “google” this award, read about it and choose a book that has won this award-  this must be a chapter book.

5.    Read a book by Mitch Albom: Tuesdays With Morrie, The Five People you Meet in Heaven,  or  For One More Day

6.    Choose ONE mystery book to read. Some mystery authors:  Agatha Christie, Joan Lowery Nixon, and Willo Davis Roberts

7.    Read a book that a classmate or family member has recommended to you.

8.    Read any book of your choice.
